UNM football: Lobos land UConn QB via portal

UConn transfer quarterback Cole Welliver committed to New Mexico via a post on social media Wednesday.

The 6-foot-6, 216-pound freshman joins the Lobos with four years to play after spending last season with the Huskies. He appeared in one game last season, completing two of four pass attempts for 10 yards in a 63-17 win over Merrimack.
